We know how important attention to detail is in corporate and large events. We have worked at larger venues for displays, such as the London Eye New Years Eve display, so we have experience in doing displays at big venues.
Phoenix have been contracted for hundreds of Council shows over the years with an enviable reputation of safety, innovation and world class displays.
Phoenix make the best of a site’s assets such as castles, old ruins, natural bowls, monuments, strategic buildings, cliffs, harbours, rivers etc. and create a signature show just for you.
We are able to use fireworks that are cold burning and don’t drop debris on rooftops and high consequence buildings. We also make extensive use of zero debris materials where fireworks are used over audiences.
For corporate events we can add your branding to the display by the way of lancework logos. This is a highly effective way of keeping the event on brand.
Lancework is a message or image drawn in fireworks. The lances, little coloured flames that burn, are pinned to a frame and are fired together to create an image.
Pyro-musicals are a favourite for spectators due to the extra ‘wow’ factor that choreography of fireworks with the music. The fireworks are either fired to a mix of pre-recorded artists or a live orchestra or band at concerts.
Phoenix designers propose music tracks that would be appealing and synchronise the fireworks to fire for maximum effect. Phoenix will work closely with you to choose the right music to create a fantastic event that won’t be forgotten!
Pyro-musical shows can be used for any event, from a concert to a wedding. Phoenix won the title of British Musical Fireworks Champions in 2007.
The music can reflect the mood of the spectators with tracks that are current, exciting, fun and innovative, or to old classics that everyone knows and loves.
Not all songs are good for fireworks. For it to work well it needs to have dynamic variation. Therefore, choosing the music for a display is a two way process with the client and the designing team.
Songs are suggested by both sides to find the perfect combination for the audience and the fireworks. The display is then designed by choreographing the fireworks on a programme called Show Sim 3D.
The show is simulated and the client can see the show, or alternatively it can be left as a surprise!
Outdoor musical concerts with fireworks was first started in the UK by Ian Craig of Phoenix Fireworks. He worked with English Heritage to start the Kenwood Bowl concert in London that was fired by Phoenix for 33 years and then spread it to other venues like Leeds Castle where it has been fired for 26 years by Phoenix.
Crystal Palace was also one of the early venues to embrace the concept with Phoenix. Phoenix has performed with nearly all the UK Philharmonic Orchestras.
The Phoenix music archive is extensive and can propose many pieces that realise the dynamism, colour and spectacle of musical fireworks to classics. We have extensive experience in firing to many suitable pieces.
Fireworks are often used in the media, and Phoenix have been involved in a number of occasions.
X-Factor had displays to welcome some of their contestants to their home town, including Olly Murs’ home-coming to Essex after he left X-Factor. The Junior Apprentice had a display to treat the contestants after a challenge.
Not only do Phoenix get involved in reality TV but also in old favourites, such as Top Gear, seen on their latest DVD “Apocalypse”, where Phoenix simulated what would happen if a car was to run over a box of fireworks!
Included in Phoenix’s television appearances is the Sony Bravia TV Advert where paint was fired off buildings. This was fired using the same firing system used for electronic displays.
Phoenix have done a display that was photographed and put into ‘Tatler’, the longstanding magazine, as part of their 300th birthday celebrations. The display also involved lancework of the logo and was put on the front cover.
In 2011, Phoenix were contracted to do a special effects display at Glastonbury Music Festival in a field and stage, simulating a human cannon ball.
We have done confetti bombs for celebrations and parties, such as at the end of races. We have used the confetti bombs along with a fire simulation for the Sultan’s Elephant festival in London.
We also have smoke grenades and coloured flares which have been used in many photoshoots and events.
A flame projector is a special effect device that projects a column of flame upwards. These are fired together or alone to create sequences of fire under computer control.
The flame projectors that we have enabled us to project flames at variable angles, in waves and Fleur de Lis shapes as well as vertically upwards. We can change the colour of the flames to any of the following: red, green, yellow, blue, pink, purple, orange and silver.
The flames can be choreographed to music, in a similar way to fireworks, to pick out notes from the song to create a display of fire. We can make the flames dance to classical or modern songs, but as for fireworks not all good songs will make good choices. We are happy to advise you if you want a pyro-musical flame show.
